Acquired
RSL: Selected in the first round (3rd overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft on 1/18/08Many raised their eyebrows when the Real Salt Lake braintrust selected UCLA's Tony Beltran with the #3 overall pick in January's MLS SuperDraft, but the U.S. Youth International shed any doubts about the value of that pick with a sturdy rookie campaign. Beltran was thrown into action early on in the season and ended up appearing in half of RSL's League contests - a number that could have been higher were he not sidelined for much of the final third of the year due to injury. With speed to burn and an engine that seemingly never ends, Beltran will be looked upon to provide even more minutes along the RSL right flank in 2009 at both the fullback and midfielder positions.
