Acquired
RSL: Acquired by Real Salt Lake via an MLS Player Allocation Lottery on 2/14/08
COL: Signed to Developmental Roster on 3/18/03
After spending two seasons in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, defender Nat Borchers didn't miss a beat in his return to Major League Soccer for Real Salt Lake in 2008, sitting out of just one of the squad's 30 regular season contests. The cerebral central defender helped anchor a revamped RSL backline that broke the club's single-season record with 39 goals allowed, while also providing veteran leadership both on the field and in the locker room. With a year of familiarity under his belt alongside Jamison Olave, the dependable Borchers should be expected to turn his partnership with the hulking Colombian into the League's most formidable center-back tandem across MLS in 2009.
