Position: Retail Associate
Status: Full Time / Part Time
Duties/Responsibilities:
Real Salt Lake Team Store is now hiring friendly, energetic, and customer service focused individuals for our Real Salt Lake Soccer games and potentially any other event that comes to Rio Tinto Stadium.
Sales reps are responsible for selling merchandise to customers at all RSL home games, concerts, and other events throughout Rio Tinto Stadium. Protect company assets through accurate cash handling and loss prevention policies and procedures. Participate in all stock and merchandising issues at assigned locations. Support management in all areas of overall merchandise, as required. Most have strong desire to work with the public. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time essential. Ability to work 80% of all regular and post season games required for Real Salt Lake.
Qualifications:- At least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Dependable team player who enjoys working with people and an interest in Real Salt Lake Soccer.
- Retail experiences a plus, but not required.

In order to accommodate a broad array of disciplines, Real Salt Lake offers internships in all facets of the organization, from grassroots marketing and customer relations to communications, game-day and operations. Each Real Salt Lake internship presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the daily operation of a world-class, Major League Soccer team year-round, including in-season and off-season. All internships at Real Salt Lake are eligible for college credit, unpaid monetarily but extremely valuable in terms of experience and exposure with one of America's premier sports and entertainment properties.
Real Salt Lake Internships fall into three terms that coincide with the college/university calendar:
• Spring
• Summer
• Fall

Reporting Procedures
Interns are expected to report to their direct supervisors according to the agreed upon work schedule. If you are going to be late or absent for any reason, your direct supervisor must be notified as soon as possible. Excessive tardiness or absenteeism could be grounds for dismissal from the program.
Personal Conduct
Interns are expected to conduct themselves in such a manner as not to be offensive to guests, tenants, customers, or fellow employees. Good guest relations are necessary to any successful business; therefore, actions should be governed by the knowledge that we are always in the public's eye.
Use of Temporary Workspaces
In the absence of a designated cubicle, you may be asked to work at someone else's workstation. Please be courteous and leave the area as you found it.
Internet Use
Internet access is limited to business use only.
Dress Code - Business Attire
Each member of the business office staff may come into contact with the public and therefore, represents the Company not only by their actions but by their appearance as well. The properly attired employee helps to create a favorable image for the Company. Business office staff is expected to dress in a manner that is normally acceptable in professional business establishments. If a member of the business office staff reports to work improperly dressed or groomed, the supervisor, in his or her discretion, may instruct the employee to return home to change clothes or they may take other appropriate corrective action. Any outfit that may be regarded as extreme or questionable should be avoided.
The Company reserves the right in all situations to decide whether any member of the business office staff is in violation of this policy.
The key to dressing in business attire is exercising good judgment and being neat in appearance. In that regard, the following are several suggested guidelines that will be helpful in determining what is considered inappropriate attire when working in the office.
INAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE - MEN AND WOMENWhen attending events outside of the office, please ask your supervisor what type of dress is appropriate.
Confidential Information
All of our staff / interns may be exposed to confidential information regarding sensitive aspects of our business. The business knowledge and information acquired during your day's work should stay within the confines of the office. It is no one else's business to know detailed information about Company affairs. Dissemination of confidential information can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Inquiries from all outside sources regarding any aspects of our business should be referred to a member of senior management.
Accounting Intern
Duties/Responsibilities:
This is an entry level, unpaid intern position. Prefer a college accounting student seeking practical experience in account and/or the professional sports industry.
The candidate will report to the Controller and assist in a variety of duties, including the following:
- Account Payable voucher preparation, including reviewing invoice for accuracy and verifying that invoice has been approved with a purchase order or appropriate signature.
- Update Purchase Order System, ensuring that appropriate PO’s include appropriate approvals and account codes.
- Assist Controller in preparation of month-end journal entries.
- Other analysis and assistance as needed.
- Filing for Account and Human Resources.
- Assist Operations staff in game-day preparations.
Estimated 20 hours per week, flexible schedule.

Corporate Services Intern
Duties/Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Corporate Services and Game Operations department is to assist in the generation and retention of corporate partnership revenue by providing the highest level of service and creativity in the development and fulfillment of the contractual elements of all signed corporate partnerships, while providing RSL fans an entertaining and professional game experience.
- Assist corporate service coordinators with the fulfillment of corporate contracts
- Organization of proposals and contracts
- Research new clients, categories and industry best practices
- Organization of all sponsor photos
- Assist in the development of mid season and end of season reviews
- Participate in promotional brainstorms
- Assist in coordination of game day production
- Organization and management of 5-6 game day interns
- Professional appearance, attitude and communication skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Access preferred

Marketing/Promotions Intern
Real Salt Lake's Marketing and Promotions interns have the unique opportunity to learn the organizational aspects of promoting a professional soccer team via public and media relations, grass-roots marketing, event production and promotional creativity. The responsibilities of this position include assisting with various marketing projects and promotional activities throughout the community as well as during game competitions (sponsorship fulfillment, corporate events and game-day atmosphere enhancement).
Community Relations Intern
Real Salt Lake Community Relations interns will have the opportunity to learn how a professional sports organization positively impacts the community both on and off the field through educational programs, player appearances, in kind donations and partnerships with a variety of businesses and organizations. Interns will help promote and publicize RSL's community involvement as well as support the game day responsibilities of the Community Relations and Marketing Department. Several of the community programs include the coordination between many RSL departments; therefore, candidates must be work well within a team environment yet be able to work independently on projects assigned. Because the Community Relations Department handles many of the public events, all those involved must be helpful, tactful, and personable to RSL fans and potential fans. Responsibilities include:

The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Evaluation of candidates is based on two primary elements: writing ability and knowledge of soccer and MLS. Those with strong knowledge of soccer are encouraged to apply.
